"Shaving processing" is a method that involves re-shaving the cut surface, which has been sheared by punching, using a shear mold to obtain a smooth and highly precise cross-section. The effect of shaving processing is that the smaller the allowance (cutting allowance), the lower the risk of crack formation on the sheared surface. Additionally, the processing force required for shaving is determined more by the material, circumference, and allowance (cutting allowance) of the workpiece than by the plate thickness, allowing for processing with much smaller forces compared to conventional shearing. It is widely used for finishing sliding parts in industrial machinery and functional components.
