Introduction of Production and Processing Examples: ESTRO ROBOT

We manufacture products with fine precision required by delicate mold-making technology! Here is an introduction to examples of small parts produced through press processing.

This is an introduction to a case study of character goods production by ESTRO ROBOT (Estro Lab Co., Ltd.). At Hayakawa Industries, we respond broadly to customer needs with our long-developed mold manufacturing technology, ensuring precision and intuitive adjustments. [Request for the case] We would like the hole diameter to be a suitable size that can be easily inserted without falling out. [Finished product] ESTRO ROBOT is a product featuring a robot holding a guitar. The hole diameter was crucial to make it appear as if the robot is actually holding the guitar. Through multiple prototypes, we successfully achieved a precise balance, resulting in a satisfactory finished product. *For inquiries about press-processed products, please contact Hayakawa Industries directly. *ESTRO ROBOT is also available for purchase on the site below!

Processing by hot pressing (compaction) roll press.

Creating additional value for the brand cedar.

Our company uses a heat press (compression) roll press to harden the surface of softwood materials such as cedar and cypress. Because the surfaces of cedar and cypress are soft, they were traditionally only used for structural materials like columns and ceiling boards, but with the heat press (compression) roll press, it has become possible to use them for flooring, wainscoting, wall materials, and more. *The heat press (compression) roll press is patented.

Press processing "Shaving processing"

A processing method that achieves smooth and highly precise cross-sections with minimal force compared to conventional shearing processes.

"Shaving processing" is a method that involves re-shaving the cut surface, which has been sheared by punching, using a shear mold to obtain a smooth and highly precise cross-section. The effect of shaving processing is that the smaller the allowance (cutting allowance), the lower the risk of crack formation on the sheared surface. Additionally, the processing force required for shaving is determined more by the material, circumference, and allowance (cutting allowance) of the workpiece than by the plate thickness, allowing for processing with much smaller forces compared to conventional shearing. It is widely used for finishing sliding parts in industrial machinery and functional components. There are many successful cases of value analysis (VA) and value engineering (VE) in reducing buffing finishes and the number of sliding parts in electrical components, engine areas, and functional parts, so please feel free to contact us if you are interested. [Features] - The smaller the allowance (cutting allowance), the lower the risk of crack formation on the sheared surface. - Processing is possible with much smaller forces compared to conventional shearing. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

Incorporating high precision and high rigidity technology into the die for plate forging using a general press.

Shinmei's plate forging primarily uses general press machines along with high rigidity and high precision molds. By keeping machine costs down, we achieve significant cost advantages.

Plate forging is a technology that incorporates cold forging forming techniques into press plate materials, allowing for partial reduction or increase of plate thickness and the processing of uneven shapes that could only be achieved through machining, within the pressing process. Shinmei integrates high-precision and high-rigidity technology into molds to realize plate forging with general presses, providing significant cost reduction benefits. 【Features】 - Diverse uneven shapes We propose shapes that can be achieved through plate forging according to the product's functionality. It is possible to form a variety of uneven shapes. - Cost image Shinmei's plate forging primarily utilizes "general press machines" and "high-rigidity, high-precision molds." By using in-house manufactured molds, we enable plate forging in areas that do not require high-end, high-rigidity press machines. This reduces machine costs and achieves significant cost advantages. *For processing examples and detailed information, please download the PDF materials or inquire by mentioning "Ipros site."

Press Die Special Edition: Die Maker Column - Progressive Die Edition

In the mold shop column, we will continuously share various topics about molds! (We also publish the mold shop column on our company Instagram.)

In the previous column, I introduced that there are mainly three types of press molds, focusing on the single-stage mold. In this column, I will introduce the progressive mold! A progressive mold refers to a type that incorporates multiple processing methods, such as punching, bending, and drawing, into a single mold. This processing method sends the material to the next stage with each press, shaping the product. The material used is typically in a rolled form (coil material) and is automatically fed to the next stage. The advantages include improved production efficiency and stable quality due to automation, as well as the ability to perform more complex processing than single-stage molds since multiple processes can be incorporated. On the other hand, a disadvantage is that the mold design and manufacturing are more complex compared to single-stage molds, making the cost of mold production relatively high. Additionally, there is a possibility of the "boat bottom phenomenon," where a shift occurs at the tip of the product. (I plan to cover the "boat bottom phenomenon" and "shift" in a future column!) Products suitable for progressive molds are those that require mass production or complex processing. In the next column, I will explain the "transfer mold"!

Hera drawing process (spinning)

Processing of 5mm thick stainless steel is possible!!

It is said that automation and mechanization through computer control have made remarkable progress in recent years, but "spinning processing" requires more manual techniques as the desired shapes become more complex. This work cannot be sustained without the factory having the experience and technology to meet the increasingly sophisticated needs of clients.

Examples of pressing/deep drawing processing of non-ferrous metals! Deep-drawn parts made of stainless steel.

Added rib shapes to the side of the constriction parts! Adopted a processing method that increases strength by creating recesses! Leave it to us for non-ferrous metals like stainless steel and aluminum!

We would like to introduce Noguchi Manufacturing's "Deep Drawn Stainless Steel Parts." This product features rib processing aimed at increasing strength and preventing the rotation of mating parts. Rib processing is one method of enhancing strength by creating indentations. When looking to increase strength, one might typically think of thickening the material; however, simply thickening the material can lead to increased weight and larger product size, which are drawbacks. Therefore, we addressed this with rib processing. 【Features】 ■ Implemented rib processing aimed at increasing strength and preventing the rotation of mating parts ■ Rib processing: A method of enhancing strength by creating indentations *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
